Russell Smith, MD
Dr. Smith is a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist. He was born and raised in Northern California. Dr. Smith attended Brigham Young University for undergraduate studies. He received his Medical Doctorate degree from Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Smith then moved to Texas, where completed his residency in OB/GYN at the University of Texas/Galveston. He was the administrative Chief Resident during his last year. He currently serves on the Quality Assurance-Peer Review Committee for IHC. Dr. For the last 9 years, Dr. Smith volunteered at the 4th Street Homeless Clinic.
Dr. Smith states, “My goal is to form a personal relationship with each of my patients. By spending quality time and educating patients, we can make personalized medical decisions together, ensuring the best medical care”.
Dr. Smith and his staff provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care for women of all ages and backgrounds. He is fluent in Spanish. Although he has a special interest in laparoscopy, infertility, and incontinence surgery, the greatest part of his job is prenatal care and delivery. It is amazing to share in this wonderful experience with each new mother and her family. He makes a special effort to be present for each of his patient’s deliveries.
When Dr. Smith isn’t delivering babies, he plays hard. He has an amazing and supportive (and flexible) wife and 4 awesome kids. Dr. Smith has a passion for cars and food. He does most of the cooking at home and the kitchen is his creative outlet. Dr. Smith loves the outdoors. Among his favorites are boating, cycling, skiing, and golf. He loves anything he can do with his kids.
